As last year, we will be starting the run at Hillsborough and ending at Anfield and we are extremely grateful to Liverpool FC and Sheffield Wednesday FC for their support. Without them, this run could not take place.
The Hillsborough Families Support Group and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign are completely committed to our undertaking again this year and we are delighted not only to have them on board, but honoured to be doing the run in memory of the 96 with their support.
The Hillsborough to Anfield run is a fine initiative linking the people of two great cities, demonstrating generosity of spirit and the determination of all who have campaigned tirelessly for justice. Alder Hey and The Children's Hospital certainly work to ensure a brighter future for our children within our communities and are brilliant choices. It is remarkable how those who themselves have suffered so much are often the first to respond to the pain of others. So it is with the Hillsborough families and survivors. For truth and justice. YNRA!

We feel privileged to know you all, and we give them our full support and backing and very best wishes for your next run on behalf of Alder Hey Childrens' Hospital and The Children's Hospital, Sheffield, in memory of the 96. Good luck guys with all that you do. We hope you raise a lot of money for these two good causes.
I can only offer my own personal support for the team, as they prepare for the 2013 event. This year will be very special, as the aim will be to raise funds for Alder Hey Children's hospital in Liverpool and The Children's Hospital, Sheffield, this is in memory of The 96 who lost their lives at Hillsborough, I can't think of a better legacy than one that will help children who are ill.
We are delighted to be one of the beneficiaries of this unique event which is recognising the tragic events of 1989, joining the two stadia of Anfield and Hillsborough and raising money for two of the UK’s four stand-alone children’s hospitals – Alder Hey and The Children's Hospital, Sheffield. The 96 mile route will be challenging and we will be hoping the runners complete the course safely and be justifiably proud of their efforts
Chris Done, Head of Fundraising and PR - Alder Hey
“We are pleased to add our total support for this project, together with Liverpool FC and the wider communities of both cities central to the Hillsborough disaster. “The concept of linking the two children’s hospitals as chief beneficiaries from the Hillsborough to Anfield Run is inspired and will only strengthen the existing bond between Liverpool and Sheffield. “Sheffield Wednesday continues to admire and give our complete respect to the families and friends of the 96, who will always remain in our thoughts
Trevor Braithwait, Director of Communications, Sheffield Wednesday
Once again, Liverpool Football Club is delighted to support this year’s Hillsborough to Anfield run to help raise money for the children’s hospitals here in Liverpool and in Sheffield. We wish all the runners well and look forward to welcoming them on their safe arrival at Anfield
Andrew Parkinson, Operations Director, Liverpool Football Club
We’re honoured to be one of the charities to benefit from this inspiring event, which is bringing so many people together. The money raised will go to our Make it Better appeal, to help transform The Children’s Hospital here in Sheffield and make our extraordinary hospital even better. As one of only four stand-alone children’s hospitals in the country, along with Alder Hey, we are extremely grateful to supporters like the Hillsborough-Anfield Run Team who help us to keep on making our hospital the best it can be for children from across our region and beyond.

I'm very much behind the Hillsborough to Anfield run, the people involved and everything it stands for. It's certainly not going to be easy for the participants and this shows how commited to the justice cause these guys are and I'm sure they'll pull through as they're taking it really seriously and training really hard to make sure it will be a success. I wish all involved the best of luck and applaud them also for showing the support to the cause an hopefully it will help towards producing the result we all want- JUSTICE

Reflecting on the run this year is going to be tough, so many highs and a few lows. First I need to start on the team, unbelievable effort from all 19 people who involved themselves and gave up so much time and effort. We had some new additions this year
I have chosen to split this blog in two. I want to take the opportunity to thank the support team and my fellow runners and then I want to discuss my experience of the run. Upon joining the team, I was unsure why we needed 13 support staff, boy was
Today seen the team get together for the first time, for some this was familiar faces and for the new team members joining an introduction. As well as the logistics of kit, equipment, people’s, times and places the most important job today was to visit The Children’s Hospital Sheffield, one
