On the morning of Saturday April 15th 1989, thousands of Liverpool fans set off for an FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough, the home of Sheffield Wednesday FC. 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives that day and many hundreds of others were badly injured. For Liverpool fans, the number 96 is etched in the collective memory alongside other numbers such as 5 and 18. The 96 have become an intrinsic part of Liverpool Football Club.
In the intervening years, Liverpool fans have never let the world forget the 96 despite many injustices and setbacks. And until some comfort is brought to the families of the 96 and until someone is called to account for the deaths of these 96 souls, Liverpool fans will continue to remind the world what happened that dreadful spring day and since then.
Dominic Williams is one of those fans who will not let the 96 or their families be forgotten. And so, with five others, they will run 76 miles in less than 3 days from Hillsborough to Anfield. The six runners will be raising funds along the route and online for the families of the Hillsborough Disaster and to help those who would keep the focus on the continuing quest for justice for the 96 victims.
The team is honoured to have the support of the Hillsborough Families Support Group (HFSG) and the Hillsborough Justice Campaign (HJC) and is confident that they will receive huge support from all Liverpool fans.

Starting on the pitch at Hillsborough, finishing on the pitch at Anfield!
The Hillsborough To Anfield Run is very pleased and deeply honoured to announce the cooperation of Liverpool Football Club and Sheffield Wednesday Football Club in the Run. Both Clubs have been magnificent in their support, offering to do whatever they can to ensure its success.
The Run will begin on the pitch at Hillsborough in front on the Lepping’s Lane End, where so many Liverpool fans died and were injured on that fateful day in 1989. We thank Sheffield Wednesday FC profusely for their help and for this wonderful gesture.
Liverpool has offered that the runners finish the run on the pitch at Anfield, a dream for any Liverpool fan. The run will get to Anfield at approximately 11.30AM on April 14th and Liverpool FC will open the stadium allowing the runners to break the tape on the half way line. There will then will be a half time presentation at the next home game, against West Bromwich Albion, on April 22nd. We thank Liverpool FC for all their help.
We encourage everyone to get out to cheer the runners on, anywhere along the route, but especially at Hillsborough and Anfield. 76 miles in 3 days is a considerable effort and the runners will need all the support and cheer they can get.
We are very honoured to have the support and co-operation of the two clubs, Sheffield Wednesday and Liverpool and we thank them profusely. See you on the pitch at Hillsborough and Anfield! JFT96!
